Working with Mrs. Sosa is a wonderful experience and she accommodates your personal needs while still considering your academic interests. Her input is extremely helpful as she helps you consider every aspect of your choices, not just the academic results. I remember choosing many difficult and time-consuming classes, and while she supported my decisions, she also made sure I considered if I would still have time to spend with my friends and a healthy balance in my life. Overall, she is just an amazing person who really would like to help you achieve your goals!

I appreciate you helping me out and giving me options in case the exam was unfixable. I’m glad they were able to fix this and once again, thank you for the talk we had on the phone, it definitely helped me keep a level head about the whole situation.

I just wanted to say thank you for all the help you and the AP program at ... have given me. Thanks to the AP program and the teachers of the classes, I was able to come into college with 25 credits, saving me $12,300. I already have one and a half semester's worth of credits before even beginning class. I want to thank you for all the motivation you gave me, and all the support that you gave me and my fellow AP’ers. The help was extraordinary and I cannot tell you how awesome the AP program worked for me! Thank You again, and I hope you have a good school year!
Brook, student (11-12)
It's been a long 13 years of school that’ve led up to this point... You helped me out a bunch with college stuff, this year especially, and I thought I should let you know that I've accepted my offer to Iowa State University! Thanks for everything you've helped me out with.

In the realm of rigorous academia, a counselor's role may go unnoticed. However, Mrs. Sosa, a key member of ... School, made me who I am today.
Mrs. Sosa has influenced me in the most profound way possible. When I first came to Stevens, Mrs. Sosa showed me all of the possibilities awaiting me, ranging from the rigorous AP and online classes to out of school activities that bettered my academic and social life. She also advised me and helped me overcome difficulties in life outside of Steven. Her help gave me confidence and hope, and is the most crucial part of my success today.
Mrs. Sosa served as the path to my current successes and she provided great insight to every problem I encountered in my life. To me, she is an artist, and the medium of her arts is the human mind and spirit.

Working with Exciting High School Journey has been such a rewarding experience for my son. Working one on one with Kathy via online video was convenient and effective. My son was able to share his perspective and concerns in a safe and helpful environment. Kathy provided valuable and organized advice, materials and accountability which helped to narrow his focus in areas that were needed. I highly recommend this service!

Such a pleasure meeting you today. Thank you for making time for ... and myself. You answered so many of our questions, and I think you inspired ... to push himself to what he is capable of, and I love that you did that! I did not want to make the decision for him to take that Spanish class, but I was hoping he would. Just so he could keep his options open. Appreciate what you do for our students, but especially what you did for ... today.

Just wanted to send a note to say thank you for talking with ... and advising her about senior registration for next year. I was a little concerned that she was listening too much to friends regarding the classes she was thinking she would take, basing her decision on a couple of people’s opinions. I am glad she got the straight info from you and that she has chosen the AP classes she has for next year. Your work is very much appreciated.

I want to thank you again for all you have done to encourage and challenge him on his journey toward the Naval Academy! He values the time you have spent with him in regards to that.

Thank You for your help and Guidance!

I appreciate the kind and encouraging words. These kids sometimes hear too little of this. As adults, and I am very guilty of it, we forget how difficult it is at times growing up, An event or arrangements that seem like nothing as an adult, when you’re a 17-year-old can be a big deal. So again, appreciate the words. They meant enough to him that he sent it to me to read.
Brian, parent, (2 students 9-12), Rapid City
Thank YOU for all of your help!
At midnight, he received word that he'd been accepted to CU Boulder with a Chancellor's scholarship award: $25k. Still awaiting word from the Honors Program and the music department, but it's definitely the news he wanted. He's given up sleep altogether, and is on the road today to Honors Orch in Spearfish. We have 2 schools left to hear back from, but to date he's received no rejections, and some lovely offers. We could not have done this without your strong part in it all! We'll keep you posted when the info all arrives. Thank you!

Thank you, as always, for your positivity! As you and I both know, a positive attitude is infectious, and a positive outlook is a self-fulfilling prophecy. It is always a pleasure working with you.
Andrew, AP teacher, Rapid City
I boldly approached you for mentoring because I have some vertical ambitions of my own, and I recognize that I lack direct experience and I need someone from whom I can learn. Your guidance every time that I have sought it over the last 2 years has helped me develop solutions to the problems that I was facing. Thank you so much, Kathryn, for all that you do to support all of us. It really matters. I would not be willing to step up with ideas without a leader that I trust.
Aliea, AP teacher, Rapid City
Thank you, Kathryn, for all that you do to support us and lead us. I feel strongly that we are coming together to build something truly marvelous with the AP Program in our district. You have been behind the scenes with it for a long time, and it is your vision for greater things that gives us the courage to dream big for our students. Thanks, Kathryn, for all that you do to support your AP people.
Scott, AP teacher, Rapid City
